Description
Creamy garlic chicken orzo is a one-pan wonder that blends tender chicken, bold garlic, and creamy orzo for the ultimate comfort meal.
Ingredients
1 lb boneless chicken thighs or breasts, diced
2 tbsp olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup dry orzo
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt & pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 1 minute.
4. Stir in orzo and toast for 1 minute, then pour in chicken broth.
5. Bring to a simmer and return chicken to the skillet.
6. Cover and cook until orzo is tender, about 10-12 minutes.
7. Reduce heat, stir in cream and Parmesan, and cook until creamy.
8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For a lighter version, swap cream with half-and-half or Greek yogurt.
Add baby spinach at the end for extra nutrients.
Use rotisserie chicken to save time on busy nights.
