Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 recommended)

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 cups cooked pasta (penne or rotini)

2 cups marinara or tomato sauce

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

3. Add diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.

4. Add ground beef and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.

5. Drain excess grease from the skillet.

6. Stir in garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, paprika, and marinara sauce.

7. Simmer for 3-5 minutes to develop flavor.

8. Spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.

9. Add cooked pasta evenly to the dish.

10. Layer the seasoned beef mixture over the pasta.

11. Top with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.

12. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

13. Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

14. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting.

Allow the casserole to rest before cutting for cleaner slices.

You can substitute rice or sliced potatoes for pasta.

Add sautéed vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers for extra flavor.

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
