Description
Creamy, savory, and comforting, this Smoked Sausage Alfredo Pasta combines smoky sausage with rich homemade Alfredo sauce in under 30 minutes. A perfect one-pan meal for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
12 oz smoked sausage (kielbasa or andouille), sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 ½ cups heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
8 oz penne pasta
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Cook penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil. Sauté sliced smoked sausage until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, melt butter. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
4. Pour in heavy cream and simmer for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Whisk in Parmesan cheese. Simmer until slightly thickened. Add reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
6. Return sausage to skillet. Stir in drained pasta and combine until well coated.
7. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for best results.
Andouille sausage adds spice; use kielbasa for a milder version.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheat with a splash of cream or milk to revive the sauce.
