Description
A hearty, oven-baked cheesy beef and potato bake made with simple ingredients. Perfect for weeknight dinners and meal prep.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
4 cups potatoes, thinly sliced
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup milk or cream
1 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a skillet, cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
3. Grease a 9×13 baking dish and layer half the potatoes at the bottom.
4. Add half the beef, sprinkle with cheese, and repeat the layers.
5. In a bowl, mix milk or cream with paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour over the dish.
6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 20-25 minutes until golden.
7. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use Yukon gold or russet potatoes for best texture.
Can be assembled a day ahead and refrigerated.
Store leftovers in the fridge up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
